3 Ways Your OBGYN Can Help You To Get Pregnant

Blog

If you and your male partner are having a difficult time getting pregnant, this can often be very frustrating. Thankfully, there is help out there. One medical professional that can help you out a great deal is your OBGYN. This article is going to discuss 3 specific ways that your OBGYN can help you and your partner to get pregnant.

Track Your Ovulation

One thing that your OBGYN can do to help you get pregnant is to teach you how to track your ovulation. By tracking your ovulation, you are going to be able to learn when you are the most fertile. You are going to ovulate on certain days right before your period, and you can track these days by tracking the beginning and the end of your period. Your doctor is going to show you how you can track your ovulation manually, as well as several different programs that you can use to track your ovulation. This is going to let you and your partner know the best days to have intercourse to increase your chances of getting pregnant. They may even be able to let you know what is the best time of day on these days to have intercourse, which can increase your chances even more.

HCG

If you have trouble with regular cycles, then your doctor may suggest that you have human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) shots. These shots can help you to have a regular period that lasts a normal length of time. This is going to allow your body to function more normally, much will in turn help you to ovulate normally. You will likely need to take these shots for as long as your are trying to get pregnant so that your cycles remain regular for you.

Sperm Test

Your OBGYN may suggest having your male partner's sperm tested simply to factor this out as an issue. What women sometimes think is a problem with them is actually a problem with with the male in the equation. The test is going to check to see the sperm count of your partner, as well as to see if these sperm are capable of swimming. Because this test is much simpler than a lot of the test that women must go through, it is generally one of the first things that is tested when a couple is having problems getting pregnant.
